 finger-picked guitar patterns find their complement in Leidecker’s equal
 ly sensitive approach to processing both\, so that input frequently become
 s indistinguishable from output. The album’s electronic glitches\, buzze
 s\, whirrs\, and drones burnish rather than obscure Sharrock’s plaintive
  melodies and imagistic lyrics. Like practiced quilters\, Phipps Pt. tende
 rly work their sonic material into a final composition whose design\, no m
 atter how abstract\, never erases the traces of the human hands behind it.
 \n\nSharrock often says at the start of a performance that Phipps Pt. is\,
  “an idea and a place that we are going to together.” As with René Da
 umal’s Mount Analogue\, Phipps Pt. is not a terminus but an occasion for
